Rubylea Brown Chambless , 87, of Paris, entered into rest, Saturday, April 26, 2008, in Longview.

Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. L. Chancy Gore officiating. Burial follows in Providence Cemetery.

The family receives friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

She was born July 23, 1920, in Pin Hook, Red River County, to Arthur Franklin Brown and Maude Mae Hooten Brown. She was a lifelong resident of Paris and attended Rosa Pearson Elementary School and Paris High School. She worked in many capacities at various local restaurants during her career. She was a member of College Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Henry Brown.

Survivors include a brother, James Henry Brown of LaPorte; daughters, Linda Sluis, and husband, Ken, of Houston, Darlene Scoggins, and husband, Kenneth, of Wylie, Ruby Hanson, and husband, Jim, of Longview, and Katrina McNeal, and husband, Mark, of Paris;a son, Asa Chambless and wife, Kristi, of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Craig Self, Shannon Russell, John Russell, Christy Figueroa, Amy Conkle, Nathan Scoggins, Sheryl Hanson, Geri Chappell, Kellyn Chambless , Jordan Chambless , Courtney McNeal, and Cody McNeal, along with 14 great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers will be Craig Self, Shannon Russell, John Russell, Jordan Chambless, Kellyn Chambless, Courtney McNeal, Cody McNeal, Ryan Odom and Brent Conkle.
