Maudie Mae Hooten Brown, 96, of Paris, died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bright-Holland Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Myre officiating. Burial was in Providence Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was born May 2, 1901 in Little Rock, AR, a daughter of 'Whistling' Jim and Serrilda Bagby Hooten.
She married Arthur Frank Brown. He preceded her in death. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include a daughter, Rubylea Chambless of Paris; a son, James Henry Brown of LaPorte; 10 grandchildren, Linda Russell of Houston, Darlene Scoggins of Howe, Ruby Hanson of Paris, Katrina McNeaI of Paris, Asa Lee Chambless of Corpus Christi, Frank Brown of Houston, Maudie Halbardier of Houston, Steve Brown of Paris, Tim Brown of Paris and Pam Perry of Paris; 24 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Henry Brown of Paris.
Pallbearers will be Mark McNeal, Brent Conkle, Asa Lee Chambless, Jim Hanson, Jack Crabb and Shannon Russell.
