CARMELA (BRUNI) CRITELLI ESPOSITO

Carmela Critelli Esposito, 90, a longtime member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, died Tuesday (Oct. 17, 2000) in Schoellkopf Health Care Facility after a brief illness.

Born Carmela Bruni in New York City, she moved to Italy with her family as a toddler, attending schools there. She lived in Italy until moving to Niagara Falls in 1928.

Mrs. Esposito worked as a chambermaid at the Holiday Inn on Buffalo Avenue from 1968 to 1972. She enjoyed baking, cooking, knitting and gardening.

Her first husband, Michael Critelli, died in 1947.

Her second husband, Peter Esposito, died in 1964.

Survivors include a son, Joseph Critelli; a daughter, Ann M. Zaccarella; two brothers, Albert Bruni of Calabria, Italy, and Ricardo Bruni of Belgium; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, after prayers at 9 in M.J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St.

Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
