Ann Zaccarella, age 79, entered into rest on November 8, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Niagara Falls, New York, on August 12, 1932 to the late Carmela and Michael Critelli.
Ann was employed by the Niagara Falls Board of Education for 20 years working in the cafeterias at South Junior, NFHS, Gaskill and GJ Mann Elementary School until retiring in 1993. She enjoyed traveling and shopping and her passion was to golf. She remained physically active and until becoming ill, golfed in leagues at Hyde Park and Shawnee Country Club. Ann was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Her door was always open and you never left her home empty handed or hungry. She also enjoyed crocheting and reading Danielle Steele novels. After retiring, Ann and her husband John spent the winter months at their condo in Winter Haven, Florida. She looked forward to coming home in the summer to be with her family. She especially enjoyed a round of golf and dinner on Tuesdays with her Ya Ya Sisters, Gloria, Linda and Paula.

Ann is survived by her loving husband, John, who she married August 2, 1952; daughter, Cindy Zaccarella of Lockport; son, Peter (Sue) of Carrollton, Texas; and daughter-in-law, Tami (Tom) McNamara of North Tonawanda. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Nicole (Christopher) Huntington, Alicia (Todd) Vanderwalker of Middleport, Nicholas and Jon Zaccarella and Brooke McNamara of North Tonawanda, Michael and Michelle Zaccarella of Texas. Ann was blessed with five great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Michael and Carmela Huntington and Faith Ann and David Vanderwalker. Also surviving is a brother, Joseph (Gloria) Critelli; and in-laws, Tony (Joanne) Pedulla, Pete (MaryKay) Zaccarella, Rose (late Tony) Gizzarelli, Dorothy (late Jack) London and Mary Ann Lansberry of Niagara Falls and Joseph Zaccarella from California, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her step-father, Peter Esposito; in-laws, Anthony and Catherine Zaccarella; a sister, Margaret Pedulla; and her youngest son, John.
