Della Fontella Terry Knight of San Angelo, Texas, age 83, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015, at home with family by her side.

Fontella was born April, 1, 1931 to Oscar and Della Terry in Comanche County, Texas. She was the 10th of eleven children. She married Pat Knight on May 17, 1950. She was known as Mama or Memaw to her family, she loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved each and every one dearly.

Fontella was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

She is survived by one son Ronnie and wife DavidAnn Knight, three daughters, Margaret Knight, Della Carter and Pattie and husband Chuck Phillips (Sherman, Texas); grandchildren: Kristi and husband Steve Wilhelm, Jeremy and wife April Carter, Ronnie Jr. and wife Sue Knight (Kaufman, Texas), Andy and wife Brandy Knight, Alyson Phillips (Sherman, Texas), Angela and husband Brian Garner, Christopher and wife Jessica Phillips (Whitesboro, Texas); Great-Grandchildren: Zachary, Bryanna and Nikkole Larson, Serenity Wilhelm, Talysen Carter, Ronnie III and Hailey Pat Knight (Kaufman, TX), Ranata Stogner (Arlington, Texas), Lexas and Jaelynn Knight, Taylor, Mason and Brittnee Garner; one sister Bonnie Young and two sister-in-laws Eunice Terry and Geneva McAngus and one brother-in-law Bobby and wife Gussie Knight; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank Dr. Stuart and Dr. Demory for their care over the years and also, Gentiva Hospice for their care and compassion in her final weeks.

Visitation will be held all day Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the funeral home with family present 6-7 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.
