Harlen was the Son of Harlen Franklin and Anna Jane (Hollis) Holliday, and the Grandson of Ganham N. and Anna Jane (Stanbrough) Hollis, and the Grandson of Abraham Lincoln and Jennie M. (Stanley) Holliday, and the Great Grandson of Benjamin Franklin and Mary Jane (Boggs) Holliday. In 1939 Harlen Married Rimma Victorovna Amasoff, and together they had two Daughter's, they were, Rimma Harlene Holliday (Mackinnon), and Loretta Jean Tamara Holliday. Harlen served in the Marine Corp from 1934 to 1937 when he became a communications officer for Pan American Airways on their clipper ships. He was postmaster and owner of the general store at Knights Ferry, California. He worked with the AMPEX Corp. in California where he helped develop tape used for tape machines. He worked in the engineering department at the Point Magu, California, Missile Range, retiring in 1972. Harlen was 80 years old when he died.
