Benjamin was known by other names, such as Frank and B.F. Holliday, and he came from a Quaker family, he was the Son of Joseph and Phoebe (Lindley) Holliday. He Married Mary Jane Boggs at Cane Creek, Chatham County, North Carolina on December / 7 / 1843, and while living there, they had Four children, they were, Lavina Jane Holliday (Willits), Eliza Adalaide Holliday (Wilson), Phebe (Nellie) Ellen Holliday (Flanagan), and Martha Matilda Holliday, who died in 1860 at the age of nine years old. Benjamin and Mary Jane then moved to Deming Indiana in 1851, and while living there they had Seven more children, they were, Mary Emily Holliday, who died in 1853 at the age of nine months old, Sarah (Susie) Evaline Holliday (White), Thomas Franklin Holliday, who died in 1857 at the age of four months old, Abraham Lincoln Holliday, Oliver Perry Morton Holliday, Grace Maude Holliday (Holloway), and General Grant Holliday, who died in 1869 at the age of two days old. Benjamin was also the Postmaster there in Deming from lincoln's time, and when he got older and retired, he sold the store to his son-in-law, Jonathan Fremont Holloway.
