Harry was the son of John E. Harrold and Elizabeth Stahler Harrold. The newspaper obituary and his death certificate list his middle initial as "O" but World War I records list his name as Harry Abner Harrold.

"Harry O. Harrold, 48, died suddenly at his home, Monday. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, the Rev. C.D. Pewterbaugh, of Altoona, officiating.
Surviving are his widow, Emma Harrold; a daughter, Miss Elenore Harrold; four sisters, Mrs. Ann Radabaugh, Mrs Jane Bitting, Mrs. Oris Finicle, Marysville and Mrs. Irene Black, Duncannon; two brothers, Frank Harrold, Enola, and John Harrold, Marysville.
He was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad at Enola, and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose."
