BENNINGTON - Carroll B. Cross, 91, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at his residence, while snowblowing his driveway.

He was born in Bennington, Vermont on September 3, 1923, the son of Ezekiel and Inez (Montgomery) Cross, and received his education in the local schools.

He married the former Anna G. Elwell in Shaftsbury, Vermont, on April 3, 1943. Mrs. Cross died in 2013.

Mr. Cross was employed by the State of Vermont Highway Department for 10 years, at the Bennington Banner for 10 years and then became superintendent of Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington for 15 years. He and his wife established Carroll's Offset Camera in 1972, operating it until 1992 when they retired and then he worked part-time at Mahar and Son Funeral Home.

Survivors include two daughters, a son, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a sister, Frieda Sears, and two brothers, Ludell and Ezekiel "Zeke" Cross.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, at White Chapel Church on Chapel Road with the Rev. Robin Greene officiating.

Calling hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at Mahar and Son Funeral Home.

Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington.
