"Almira C., wife of John S. Barker, died yesterday morning at an early hour at her home, near Clinton, on the road leading from that village to Kirkland. Mrs Barker had been ill for several weeks with typhoid fever. She was in the 62nd year of her age. The deceased was the daughter of Alonzo Barker of the town of Kirkland and was married to John S. Barker about 18 years ago. Altho a member of the Congregational church at Deansboro for many years, Mrs. Barker was an attendant with her husband at the Methodist Episcopal church in Clinton. She was greatly beloved. Besides her husband and father, Mrs. Barker is survived by two sisters and three brothers, namely: Mrs. Mary Slocum and Mrs. Fanny Lapham, Utica; Lester W., George H. and Edward B. Barker, Clinton."
