Mrs. Bailey died Friday, November 17, 2000. She was the daughter of the late John Edward and Carrie Beach Gatch. She was a member of Welch Creek Baptist Church, a retired seamstress with Smoaks Manufacturing.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Lawrence B. "Laurie" Bailey", Sr.; sons, Lawrence B. Bailey, Jr. of Smoaks, William A. Bailey of Kentucky, John Wayne Bailey of Walterboro; daughters, Dianne Dunigan of North Charleston, Lovey Thompson of Walker, LA, Karen Hughes of Canon City, Co., Vickie Lawson of St. Matthews; brothers, Nelson Gatch, Barnard Gatch, both of Walterboro; sisters, Carmelita Gatch Swanson of Walterboro, Ruby Gatch Oliphant of Augusta; 25 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
