Isaac Henry YORK was the seventh child of the ten children born to Semore York and his wife Sylvania Aldridge. He was born 5 February 1766 in Colonial Orange (Now Randolph) County, North Carolina, USA.. In 1790 Isaac Henry YORK, age 24, married Eleanor Aldridge, age 21, daughter of Nathan Benjamin Aldridge and his wife Hannah Madden their neighbors. Nathan Aldridge farmed the land west and adjacent to the Semore York farm; Isaac's father. Isaac and Eleanor were the parents of six children:

1. Nathan Isaac YORK, b. 1793 NC; d. 1869 NC
2. Hannah YORK, b 1795 NC; d, 1852 NC
3. Semore YORK III, b. 1797 NC; d. 1865 TN
4. Jabez Lindsay YORK, Sr., b 1800 NC; d. 1879 NC
5. Gilbert Andrew YORK, b. 1803 NC; d. 1883 IL
6. Sylvania YORK, b. 1805 NC; 1890 NC

Isaac died at the young age of 40 on 7 November 1806 in Randolph County, North Carolina, USA. Isaac died of a venomous copperhead snake bite in fall of 1806. Such bites are usually very painful with swelling and difficulty breathing. Without any warning Copperheads have a nasty habit of striking almost immediately when they feel threatened. The toxic poison of a copper head snake bit effects a victim within 30 minutes requiring immediate medical attention. We can only speculate the exact circumstances that Isaac experienced before his tragic death.

Isaac was hastily buried in the nearby private Odell - Trogdon Cemetery west of Grays Chapel on old Highway 49 between Asheboro and Liberty. This cemetery is just north of a curve in the Old Liberty Road or SR 2261. Isaac's death at age 40 was devastating to his family leaving six young children for his wife to raise. Sylvania York the youngest child was only 18 months old when her father died.

Isaac had two properties of a few hundred acres each that were distributed to his children and wife. Eleanor, his wife received the homestead house and 40 acres to live on until her death or remarriage. His son Jabez received the west end of the original homestead acreage. His son Andrew received the eastern end of this homestead acreage. His son Nathan received one 135 acre section at the lower end of his second property. His son Semore received 115 acres at the upper section of the second property and later built a log cabin for his family.

Then widow Eleanor Aldridge York with six children of less than 13 years needed help and a husband to support the young family. Her neighbor friend Jesse Julian and fellow member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church had also experienced a similar tragedy in his marriage. After the death of his wife Sarah "Sally" Fields in 1817, Jesse Julian had a family of ten children that he needed help with. The older children of Jesse had already married and he had just lost a young son Albert in 1818. Jesse needed a wife and mother to help care for the four youngest children. So widower Jesse Julian and widow Eleanor Aldridge married in 1818. Eleanor at age 49 took on the courageousness role of joining their two families and being their dedicated mother for the next 31 years.
