MRS. EVA LAMBIRTH
Mrs. Eva Lambirth, wife of Frank Lambirth, died at her home in this city on Thursday evening, February 4, 1904, after an illness of only about ten days with pneumonia. The news of her death came as a great shock to her relatives and friends for her illness was brief and but few knew that she was indisposed.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock and were conducted by Rev. Fred B. Palmer, of the Baptist church, after which the remains were gently laid to rest in the Chariton cemetery.
Miss Evaline Tacker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Tacker, was born in Macoupin county, Illinois, on February 9, 1867. When quite young she came with her parents to this city where the family has since resided.
She was married on February 15, 1888, to Frank Lambirth, who survives her. They were the parents of five children. One son, Alva, died in infancy. Two boys and two girls, the youngest babe only two months old, are bereft of a loving mothers care.
Mrs. Lambirth also leaves a father, two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Britt and Mrs. Bell, of this city, and two brothers, Lee Tacker of Albia and Will Tacker of Pawnee Rock, Kansas. These sorrowing ones have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in their great grief.
Mrs. Lambirth was a woman without pretense or demonstration, but her home life was exemplary. She had been a member of the Christian church for several years and had lived a constant Christian life. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a kind neighbor and friend, and her memory will be cherished as a legacy and her kind deeds will be recalled as a sweet consolation.
