Canton, IL - Ellen "Kay" Vaughn, 69, of Canton passed away on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, at the Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born on June 25, 1945, in Louisiana, Mo., to Richard E. and Nellie F. Myers Branstetter. They preceded her in death. She married Donald Vaughn on Dec. 5, 1961, in Cuba. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Elaine (Michael Williamson) Vaughn of Canton, Pam (Jed) Prater of We-Ma-Tuk, Joe (Tami) Vaughn of St. David and Warren (Kelly) Vaughn of St. David; two brothers Richard (Rita) Branstetter of Perry, Mo., and Ralph Branstetter of Canton; one sister, Donna (Ronnie) Siltman of Forest City, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Andy Berry, Randy Leonard, Jeromie Hale, Jessica Leonard, Ashley Hale, Rachel Leonard, Nick Vaughn and Jed Vaughn; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two infant sisters, Elaine Ann and Theresa Ann.
Together with her husband, Kay owned and operated Vaughn Plumbing and Heating in Canton for many years.
She attended Assembly of God Church in Canton and was truly a "people person."
Burial will be held at the Shields Chapel Cemetery in rural Canton.
