Albert J. Tobias

ROBBINSVILLE - Albert J. Tobias, 88, of Robbinsville, passed peacefully on Aug. 26, 2014, in the RWJ Hospital, Hamilton.

Born in Trenton and a lifelong area resident, Albert was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was the co-owner of the former Brown Bearing & Supply Company. He was a graduate of Trenton Catholic High School, class of 1944, and played varsity baseball. Albert received a B.S. degree from Rider College in 1951, on the GI Bill, in business administration. He was a past elected official in Washington Township (now Robbinsville Township), as well as a member of the zoning and school boards; he also was past PTA treasurer of Our Lady of Sorrows Grammar School and a former member of the Hun School of Princeton PTA, and was well traveled.

Son of the late Andrew and Suzanna Tuleya Tobias, he is survived by Arlene Marren Tobias, his loving wife with whom he celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 5, 2014; two sons, Mark, and John and spouse, Colleen; one daughter, Mary Susan Cypher and spouse, James, and five grandchildren. From a family of 10, Albert is also survived by brother, Joseph Tobias Sr. (late Rosemary). Albert was predeceased by a brother, Andrew (late Mary) Tobias; sisters, Mary (late Charles) Sujansky, Helen Tobias, Margaret (late Donald Sr.) Wollert, Ethel (late Marshall) Moffitt, Agnes (late James) Mason, Dorothy (late William Sr.) Ochanas, and Ann Marie (late John Sr.) Neylan; as well as several nieces and nephews. He will be deeply, deeply missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, South Broad St., Hamilton Township, NJ. Burial will be in Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ. Calling hours are Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday from 8:15 to 9 a.m. at the Hartmann Memorial Home, 2830 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Township, NJ 08619. Donations can be made to your local SPCA in Albert's memory.
