Maggie Kleinhuizen (= Small houses) was born in September 1868 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, daughter of Albert Kleinhuizen and Antje Wiersum, who were both born in the Netherlands.

Maggie married about 1888 the two years younger John Kingma, who had Dutch parents too. In March 1896 they were living with their children in Prinsburg, a city in the midsouthern part of Minnesota, originally platted in 1886 by Martin Prins, a partner in the Dutch real estate firm Prins and Zwanenburg. It had in 2010 497 people.

In June 1900 Maggie (32 y, born in September 1868 in Illinois, mother of one deceased and four living children), her husband John Kingma (30, August 1870, Holland, immigrated in 1873, no occupation), their children (12, December 1888, Minnesota), Mattie (7, November 1893, Illinois), Johny Kingma (4, March 1896, Minnesota) and Albert (2, December 1898, Minnesota) were living at a rented home in Holland Township, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota.
Two houses further on her father Albert Kleinhuizen (58 y, March 1842, Holland, immigrated in 1867, farmer), her mother Martje (59, December 1840, Holland, immigrated in 1867) and her sibling Albert (14, August 1885, Illinois were living at their own farm.

On 14 February 1901 her husband John Kingma died in Prinsburg, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota.

Maggie remarried to the four years older William Vander Linden (= Of the Lime trees), born in Chicago too. On 11 June 1903 they had in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois daughter Theresa, in 1909 in Illinois son Clarence VanderLinden and in March 1912 in Lansing, just south of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois daughter Margeret Van Der Linden.
