Herman Louis Buckles was born the son of William James Buckles (5/26/1828-11/4/1917 NY) and Caroline Mann Muntz Buckles (1835-1897). Later, William married Hattie Clough Buckles (1866-1/1/1832). Hattie came from Germany in 1860. (obit 1/21/1932 Olean Democrat)

His known full siblings through Caroline were: Theresa Buckles (1862-1906) Shattuck, Amelia Buckles (1863-1921) Rarey, Matilda Buckles (1873-1948) Green, and John Louis Buckles (1879-1963). Family History Theresa is a Third great to me.

His known half siblings through Hattie: Anna Buckles (10/18/1893-) Carpenter, Joseph Buckles (1898-), Flora Buckles (10/14/1899-) Besse, Joseph Buckles (8/8/1901-8/30/1901) and William Buckles (1903-).

Herman first married Fredericka Sophia Putt Greybar (8/29/1865-10/21/1916) Buckles. She had one son Joseph Lewis Greybar (1885-1961) also, saw name spelled Zreybar). They had together, four sons: Joseph Buckles, William Frederick Buckles (12/23/1893-10/28/1942) (sp. Elizabeth Kane), Floyd Herman (8/7/1891-4/1982) Buckles and Clair (1900-) Buckles, and daughters: Lena Buckles (1890-) Mcauley (Frank), Kathyn D. Buckles Scott (Ray) (1/13/1898-10/19/1971), Dora Buckles (abt 1902-). Lena was in the 1910 census I didn't find it at first because her father is spelled Harman not Herman. Also the article below:

Passing of Brother
Herman Buckles Mourned
______________________

Whereas, God in His Divine Providence, seen fit to remove from our midst an esteemed and dearly beloved Brother.
Whereas, in view of his faithful and conscientious membership over a period of years, the Brotherhood Sevens of M.E. Church, wish to express tribute to his memory and to express for him their esteem and respect.
Be it resolved--
First: that in the death of Brother Buckles, this Group has lost a faithful co-worker and friend.
Second: That the community has suffered a loss in that it has lost and upright and public spirited citizen.
Third: That we extend to his bereaved family our deepest sympathy.
Fourth: That a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the mimutes of our books.
