ADALINE DUNCAN HOUSTON was born in Addison County, Vermont on Sept 24, 1838 the only daughter of Alexander and Betsy (Parks) Houston. She had 2 brothers, Watson and Daniel Houston, both living in Dodge County, Minnesota.

She married John Leslie Fisk on December 19, 1855 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. John was a trained carpenter and also a cabinet maker and practiced his trade for many years. Later he assumed the responsibility of his father's farming endeavors in Rushford, Wisconsin. He became a widely known horticulturist and floriculturist, taking roles in state organizations. His farm was 61 acres in Section 24 of Rushford. She was a busy housewife and mother.

After her husband's death Adaline spent time with her brother, Watson Houston in Dodge County, Minnesota where she is living on the 1900 census. Later she stayed with the John W. Barker family in Omro, as they were living on her property. She was on a visit to Oshkosh when she passed away.
All of her children had previously passed away.

She is buried in Olin's Addition of the Omro Cemetery, Wisconsin where there are two family plots with her husband and her four sons buried there.
