Mrs. Jane Dawson
Mrs. Jane Dawson, widow of George W. Dawson, died at 9 o’clock last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George W. Owen, 278 Seymour Avenue. She was 89 years old
Mrs. Dawson was born in South River, N. J., December 28, 1823 and married Mr. Dawson there 69 years ago. In the early 50’s she moved to this section with her husband, settling in the Adirondacks near North Lake. The couple later moved to Remsen, where they conducted a hotel for 21 years. They then moved to Trenton, where Mr. Dawson died. Mrs. Dawson came here about 10 years ago to make her home with her daughter and during that time made many strong friends. She was a member of the South Street M. E. Church and a woman of kindly disposition. Besides the daughter with whom she lived, there are two other daughters, Mrs. E. B. Bristol of this city, and Mrs. Elizabeth Lane of Omaha, Neb. She also leaves a half-sister, Mrs. Martha L. Marshall of Brookville, O.
