TRENTON, Sept 19 – At. 2 p.m. today, George W. Dawson, the proprietor and manager of the Dawson house of this place died. He arose in usual health, but early complained of severe pains in the region of his heart and soon lost consciousness. Rallying later he conversed with those about him until a few minutes before he died. Mr. Dawson was a prominent hotel host in this part of the country, was honorable to the letter in his dealings and much beloved and respected by all. The deceased was born in New York City May 1, 1822, where he resided until 1852, when he moved to North Lake, where he was engaged in the lumber business until 1867 when he moved to Remsen and engaged in the hotel business. In 1883 he moved to Trenton village, bought and conducted the Dawson house to the present time. In 1844 he married Jane Boorman, who survives him: also three daughters, Mrs. Estella Bristol of Remsen, Mrs. Jane Elizabeth Lane of Omaha, and Anna B. Dawson of this village. Mr. Dawson twice presented the town of Wilmut in the board of supervisors. He was a member of Remsen Lodge No. 877, F and A.M.
