Pearl grew up with Claude Lee Blaine in Plevna, Reno County, Kansas. They married December 20, 1908, in Nickerson, Reno County, Kansas, and Clarence Hilmar and Harold Roy were born there. In 1913 they moved to a Sylvia, Reno County, Kansas, farm where Lucille and Keith Elvin were born. In 1916 they moved to a 160 acre farm, 5 miles west of Elkhart, Morton County, Kansas, where Russell Glenn and Orva, the last 2 of their 6 children, were born.

Pearl & Claude moved to a farm in Delhi, Merced County, California, on February 3, 1926. In 1927, their #2 son Walter Roy Blaine, died of a ruptered appendix at Emanuel Hospital in Turlock. In 1931 Pearl & Claude separated and she moved with the kids to Modesto, Stanislaus County, California. They divorced in about 1934. In 1935, Pearl took daughter Orva & son Russell Glenn to Berkeley, Alameda County, California. There she ran a boarding house for UC Berkeley students. During the summers, she took the two kids to the Boy Scout camp at Echo Lake, El Dorado County, California. There, she and Russell were cooks. In her later years she lived mostly with her daughter Orva (Blaine) Britian in Walnut Creek, Contra Costa County, California.
