Dorothy Irene "Judy" Mitchell, 88, of Morton, formerly of Tremont, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
She was born Sept. 27, 1925, in Pekin to Benjamin and Opal B. McIntyre Wheat. She married Dale W. Mitchell on April 6, 1946, in Pekin. He passed away on Nov. 24, 1990.
Surviving are one son, Dennis (Sandy) Mitchell of Tremont; and one sister, Marcella (Carl) Brems of St. Louis, Mo.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon K. Stonewall.
Judy worked at Tazewell County Children's Home, Beich's Candy in Bloomington and Mason's Greenhouse in Tremont.
She enjoyed playing the organ, dancing, camping, and spending her winters in Florida.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.
