Dennis E. Mahan, 66, a lifelong Rush County resident passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013 at his home. Dennis was born in Rushville on March 31, 1947 to the late Thomas and Ruth (Vail) Mahan.

Dennis was a 1965 graduate of New Salem High School. He married Linda Medd on April 18, 1964 and she survives. Dennis was a farmer in Rush County since 1977. He was a member of Little Flatrock Christian Church and was a past Exalted Ruler of Rushville Elks BPOE #1307, 1978-79 and 1987-88 and was District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler 1988-89, a past trustee of the lodge, and a member of the Orange masonic Lodge F&AM.

In addition to his wife Linda, Dennis leaves behind 2 sons, Bradley S. Mahan and Marty Mahan both of Rushville, a daughter Lisa E. Mahan and partner Gloria Crowell of Trafalgar, a sister Margie (Jack) Stacy of West Chester, Ohio, 4 grandchildren, Shaely Williams, Harlee Smith, Reid Crowell and Riley Mahan and 3 great granddaughters.

An Elks memorial service will be held at 7 PM Thursday, November 21, 2103 at Moster Mortuary. Friends are welcome to visit at the Mortuary from 4-7 PM that same day.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rushville Elks Veteran Project.
