James W. Barkley died yesterday afternoon (12/29/09) at 3 o'clock at his home in Lakeville, this county. He was born in Marshall County, Indiana, April 27, 1853 and had lived in the vicinity of Lakeville 45 years. He was married to Miss Virginia C. Hupp January 8, 1874, and is survived by her and the following children: Mrs. Alice E. Riddle, Mrs. Oldean Fuchs, Floyd, Frank, and Claude Barkley, all of Lakeville. His mother, Mrs. Mahlon Heston, also survives. Mrs. Schuyler Robertson, of Lakeville is a sister and Frank Barkley, of the same place, is a brother. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Lakeville Christian Church, Rev. H. N. Shepard officiating, and interment will be in the Lakeville Cemetery.
