Bryan William Fogle, Sr., 86, of Neeses, SC, died unexpectedly Sunday, August 17, 2014, one week following the death of his beloved wife, Margaret F. Fogle.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 20, 2014, in Lebanon United Methodist Church, Neeses, with the Reverend Neil Flowers officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in the church cemetery. Casket bearers will be Ethan Earle, Benjamin Fogle, William Rutland, Matthew Sides, Kyle Sides, Johnny Fogle, and Mike Fanning.
Mr. Fogle was born in Neeses, SC, Orangeburg County, a son of the late John Anthony Fogle, Sr. and Lila Flake Fogle. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a postal carrier, with 42 years of dedicated and exemplary service. Farming, for most of his life in the Neeses Community, was one of his greatest joys. Bryan was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church, was a Lay Speaker in the United Methodist Church for over 40 years, was an active Lay Speaker filling pulpits within the Orangeburg District and at nursing homes, and served as District Lay Leader for a term in the Orangeburg District. Mr. Fogle was a School Board Trustee with Orangeburg District 6 for 12 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Kaye Rutland (Algie) of Neeses; two sons, Bryan W. Fogle, Jr. (Sharon) of Orangeburg, and Richard Dwain Fogle (Katie) of Neeses; three brothers, Robert L. Fogle, Carroll “T” Fogle, and John Anthony “Tony” Fogle, Jr., all of Neeses; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm Tuesday at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home in Orangeburg. Memorials may be made in Mr. Fogle’s memory to the Lebanon United Methodist Men, P.O. Box 367, Norway, SC 29113.
