William Emmett "Bill" Britton, 69, of Laramie, passed away Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was born Aug. 22, 1944, in Laramie to William F. and Emma M. (née Knackstedt) Britton.

Bill attended Laramie schools and served time in the U.S. Army.

He worked for a number of years on oil rigs in the oil fields around Wyoming. He later started a cleaning business (Will Clean) and cleaned a number of businesses around Laramie, including the Wyoming Highway Port of Entry check station. Bill then worked for the Wyoming Highway Department as a caretaker at the Wagonhound Rest Area west of Laramie on Interstate 80 for many years. He worked there until he became too ill to continue.

Bill is survived by sister Marguerite Graham and her family; and six children, Anna Marie Hoffelder, John Allen Britton, Edward John Britton, William Bryan Britton, Robert Lee Britton and Shawna Sue Britton.

Bill's wishes were to be cremated.

Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15 at the Laramie Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1416 Boswell Drive.
