Earl Wayne Wengreen
1927 - 2018

Early Life: Earl was born December 9, 1927, in Arimo, Idaho, to Carl Arthur and Elva Brown Wengreen, the ninth of their ten children. He was raised in McCammon, Idaho, graduating from McCammon High School.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: He joined the United States Army after high school and proudly served his country during World War II. Upon his return, he attended Brigham Young University, graduating with a bachelor's Degree in business management. On February 16, 1949, he married Joan Lerwill. Shortly after their marriage, he was called into active duty to fight in the Korean Conflict. He sold his recently purchased gas station to serve his country, which he gladly did. Earl had a strong work ethic. After completing his tour of duty, he worked for BF Goodrich, BYU Library, and many years, as the business manager of the Utah State Hospital. His most loved and rewarding job was that of City Manager of Orem. He proudly served the City of Orem for 12 years. He was instrumental in bringing the University Mall to Orem. He was heavily involved in the building of the Orem City office buildings, the Orem City Library, and the Orem Recreation Center. He always felt that in working for the city, he made his greatest contributions. It was during his first year working for Orem City, that his first wife, Joan, passed away of cancer August 28, 1964. He married Carol Jean Bradshaw DeHeer on July 1, 1965. He and Carol resided in Orem until 1977. Then they moved to Lake Shore, Utah, where they lived for 41 years. In January of 2018, they moved into their new home in Vineyard, Utah. Earl was dependable and fiercely loyal to family and friends. He was a force for good in each life he touched. His passions included: hunting, camping, boating, snow and water skiing, dancing, farming, and singing. He had a beautiful tenor voice. His greatest passion was fishing. He and Carol, traveled many times to Alaska, trailer in tow, to fish the rivers of Alaska, staying months at a time. Earl was always up for a rousing game of cards or a big bowl of ice cream. A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Earl served in the Scouting program, as elders quorum president, high priests group leader, and Gospel Doctrine teacher. He and his wife, Carol, served for many years as ordinance workers in the Provo Utah Temple. Whatever the calling, he served with dedication. In his long life, he secured eternal marriages, strong faithful children, firm friends, and an unwavering testimony of Jesus Christ and His Gospel. His life was a living witness to the things he valued most: God, country and family. His dying words were, "Never lose your testimony of Christ. Never!" Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Earl Wayne Wengreen, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018, nine days shy of his 91st birthday.
Family Message: "The hole that is left by his absence will be filled by the memory of his goodness, his love, and his influence. Our world is a better place because he was here."
