PROMINENT EDINA PEOPLE MARRY

Mayor Walter B. Simpson and Mrs. Lorie McElfresh Wedded Wednesday Morning at 7:30 O'clock.

Mayor Walter B. Simpson and Mrs. Lorie McElfresh were married at 7:30 o'clock Wednesday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Fisher, in Edina, in the presence of the immediate families. The ceremony was performed by Rev. S. E. Botsford. The bride was attired in a brown ensemble suit.

A breakfast was served just after the ceremony, and shortly after Mr. and Mrs. Simpson left on the morning train for St. Louis where they will remain few days.

These people are among the prominent persons of the county. Mrs. Simpson comes from one of the pioneer families of Edina, and is a granddaughter of P. B. Linville, founder of the Bank of Edina. Her father, C. B. Linville, succeeded P. B. Linville in the management of the affairs of the bank. She is a graduate or the Edina high school and of Lindenwood College, at St. Charles. She taught in the schools of Knox county for a number of years, and later taught in the schools of Edina.

Dr. Simpson, after graduating from a medical college, spent two years in hospital work. Later he located at Steffenville and Newark, where he spent seventeen years as an active physician. When Dave Delaney, collector of Knox county, died during his term of office, Governor Major appointed Dr. Simpson as successor, who filled the unexpired term with credit to himself as one of the most efficient officers the county has had.

Later he was elected mayor of Edina and is now serving his third term as the chief executive of Edina.

Doctor Simpson has given the city n progressive administration. At the last election he was the unanimous choice of the voters. During this term, a most complete water and sewer system has been installed. Dr. Simpson has worked unceasingly for the good of Edina, and his efforts are appreciated.

Upon the return of Doctor and Mrs. Simpson they will be in charge of the Hotel Gibbons which was leased a short time ago. --- Knox County Democrat.

==========

Dr. W. B. Simpson is considered a LaBelle product and we have always claimed him as such. He not only resided here at one time, but he attended school at Western College several years. Therefore, his marriage is of no small interest to LaBelle people, all of whom join in wishing him and the new Mrs. Simpson all the joys that can come to mankind.
