Although Elsie was born in S.D., she was raised in Lake City Mn. Elsie attended the Florence grade school near what is now called Frontenac, Mn. She was 12 years old when her father died. As a young kid, Elsie remembers she and her siblings used to walk the railroad tracks, picking up chunks of coal that the railroad worker threw in their direction. The coal was taken home and used as fuel to heat their house. As a young lady, Elsie worked as a waitress at the Lion Hotel in Lake City. Elsie loved to play cards. She and several of her friends met once a month and played cards in their homes. She worked for the gov't during world war 2 at Mpls. Moline plant on Como ave. She had Parkinsons disease and osteoporosis when she died at 92 years old.

Wisen, sons Robert C. & wife Crystal, William E. & wife Norma, 9 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, sister, Marian Bartel. Service Wednesday 11 AM at Washburn McReavy Southeast Chapel, 2nd. St. & Central Ave. SE. Mpls. Interment National Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 6-7:30 PM at: Washburn McReavey Southeast Chapel.
