Elizabeth Allen, 88, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at her home in Shelbyville. She was a native of Spencer County and was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She had been employed as a nurse and had also been a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eula Humes; and her husband, Robert D. Allen. She is survived by her sons, Wallace Melton Hayes of Simpsonville and Chuck Reed of Shelbyville; her brother, Henry Lewis Humes of Fishervillle; and 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Shannon Funeral Home with the Rev. Jesse Baxter and the Rev. Marc Webb officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Valley Cemetery in Taylorsville.
