Aline Cranford Tompkins

Age 94 years, 10 months and 12 days, a resident of East Prairie, passed away Wednesday July 23, 2014 at 4:10 am in the East Prairie Nursing Center.

Born September 11, 1919 in Obion County, Tennessee to the late Jesse L. & Mary Magdalene Fobar Priest, Aline lived most of her life in East Prairie. On August 18, 1936 she married Earnest Cranford who preceded her in death on July 11, 1970. On January 6, 1971 she married Robert Tompkins who also preceded her in death on August 9, 1981.

She is survived by one brother, Charles Thomas Priest of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Edith Marie Clark of Oklahoma, Nell Mainord of Cape Girardeau and Ann Duty of Benton; by several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Besides her husbands and parents; two brothers, Charlie Lee Priest and Earnest Priest; and three sisters, Helen Sanders, Jesselene Ray and Mildred Brown also preceded Aline in death.

Friends may call after 6 pm Thursday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 pm in the Shelby Chapel with Bro. Mike Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery with Shelby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
