ONE OF THE PIONEERS OF EVANSVILLE PASSED AWAY
Mr. Halvor O. Fagre of this place died at his hone Tuesday March 5th, 1912 at the age of 77.
The deceased was born in Ringerike, Norway, October 14, 1834. In 1873 he came to Evansville and bought a farm about a mile north of the village. In 1882 he married Miss Lorense Olson. During their marriage two daughters were born to them.
April 12, 1912 (NOTE: the death index and also the cemetery records state 1901 as her death date), Mrs. Fagre died. Mr. Fagre then sold his farm and in 1902, he built a home in Evansville where he lived up to the time of his death. He leaves two daughters, Minnie and Hannah, four sisters and two brothers. The deceased was one of the early pioneers of the country
and always did his best and was a good neighbor and loving husband and father. The funeral will be held from the Norwegian Lutheran Church, Saturday at 1 o'clock p.m.
