On May 17, 1876 she was united in marriage to Ole O. Borgrude. They settled on a farm north of Evansville, where they have since resided. To this union thirteen children were born. Three of the children, Albert, Oscar and Otella (Mrs. Nichols) have preceded their mother in death. Two grandchildren, Muriel Nichols (Mrs. Gerald Franklin) and Bennie Nichols were also reared at the Borgrude home.
Mrs. Borgrude has been failing in health for some time, especially so the last three months. The cause of her death was heart trouble. Mrs. borgrude was among the pioneers in this community. She was a pioneer member of Our Saviour's Lutheran church and a faithful member of the Ladies' Aid. After becoming too feeble to do active work, she remembered the organization with a gift each year.
Funeral services were held from the home and at Our Saviour's Lutheran church Wednesday, Nov. 13, Rev. H. B. Raun officiating. Mr. Borgrude who has been poorly for some time, was too feeble to attend. All the children were present. the six sons namely, Carl, Edwin, Frieman, Willie, Oscar and Freeman were pallbearers.
Her husband together with ten children are left to mourn a dear wife and mother. The children are Olive (Mrs. Ross Thomas) of Lewiston, Mont., Nora (Mrs. Guy Samel) of Glendive, Mont., Mary (Mrs. Roy Keizer) of St. Paul, Hannah (Mrs. Wm. Lord) of Breckenridge, Oscar of Waubun, and Carl, Martin, Edwin, Freeman and Willie of this community. She is also survived by one brother, Hans Fagre of Wendell and one sister, Mrs. Karen Solberg of Evansville; seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
