Ole and Martha came to America in the year 1873. They came with their two youngest children, who were young adults, Hans and Maria. Ole Borgrud, a good friend and future son-in-law came with them.

They settled on a farm in Lund Township, north of Evansville,
Minnesota. Having heard of the region from some of their older children, who had already settled in the area.

They later moved to a log cabin on the farm of their daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Abraham Solberg where they lived the rest of their lives.

Ole and Marthe had seven children, all of them, with the exception of Hans and Maria, were married in Norway. Their Children's names were Halvor, Johannes, Andrena, Karen, Marne, Hans and Maria.

Last Thursday an old gentleman by the name of Fagre was found almost dead in a pond near town and in a short time death came to his relief. The county coroner was called and autopsy held. No foul play was decision of the medical examiners.
