Mrs. Ruama Lauchnor Claimed by Death

Mrs. Ruama Lauchnor, 87, widow of Paul N. Lauchnor, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rosa Grice, 610 South Jackson street in Frankfort, at 2:30 p. m. Sunday. Although in advanced years and afflicted with a heart ailment, she had not been ill on the day of her death. Instead, that morning she had prepared dinner for Mrs. Grice and herself while the former attended church. She was stricken while lying down, rose, and walked to a chair in the living room, where she died. She had lived with Mrs. Grice after her own home was destroyed by fire five years ago.

She had been a Frankfort resident only three weeks, it being late November when the two ladies moved from the Grice farm near Fickle to the home in town. She was born March 27, 1856, near the Newcomer church, the daughter of John and Nancy (Booher) Wilson, and was the last of eleven children. On July 25, 1880, she was married to Mr. Lauchnor, who died in 1906. Her entire life except for the last three weeks was spent in the same community.

Two daughters, Mrs. Grice and Mrs. Samuel Smithers of near Clarks Hill, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Paul Galvin of Lafayette, survive. One daughter, Mrs. Alice Burkhalter, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. L. Eiler at the Jefferson United Brethren church Tuesday afternoon. Burial was at Fair Haven.
