Funeral rites for George Eckhardt, 33, of Denver were conducted in that city at St. John's Lutheran church on Wednesday of last week. The services were conducted by the church pastor, Rev. Paul G. Hansen, assisted by Dr. Martin Mundinger.

Mr. Eckhardt, a former resident of the Culbertson community, died in a Denver hospital on Sunday, August 9, after being ill for several months with Bright's disease. Elton Monismith sang "Rock of Ages" and "Asleep in Jesus" during the church service, and Francis Schubkegel served as organist. The pallbearers were Jake Eckhardt, Conrad Sinner, Dave Eckhardt, Reynold Eckhardt, Dale Leibbrandt, and John Eckhardt. Burial was made in Chapel Hill cemetery in Denver.

Out-of-town relatives who attended the funeral services included LeRoy Schlager of Mesa, Arizona; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schaefer and daughters of Holdrege; Mr. and Mrs. Lew Hidy of Trenton; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Leibbrandt of Danbury, and the following from Culbertson: Mr. and Mrs. Ed Adams, Mrs. Jacob Eckhardt, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Heinbigner, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schlager Sr., Mrs. Allan Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Schlager, Henry Schlager Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Willmann.

George Eckhardt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Eckhardt, was born in McCook, Nebraska on September 23, 1925 and died in Denver, Colorado on August 9, 1959 at the age of 33 years, 10 months, and 17 days.

He was married to Geraldine Willmann of Culbertson on June 10, 1945. They were the parents of one daughter, Cathy Jo.

Mr. and Mrs. Eckhardt resided in the Culbertson community until 1948, when they moved to Denver, and he was employed there as a lay-out man for the Terra Cotta Co.

The deceased was preceded in death by his father, who died June 5, 1953. He was confirmed in St. John's Lutheran church in Culbertson in December of 1958.

Survivors include his widow, Geraldine, and daughter, Cathy Jo, both of Denver; his mother, Mrs. Jacob Eckhardt of Culbertson; three brothers, John of Culbertson; Jake of Denver, and Dave of Fort Morgan, Colorado; two sisters, Mrs. Dale (Darlene) Leibrandt of Danbury, Nebraska; and Mrs. Don (Marion) Roach of Denver; two half-brothers, Reynold Eckhardt of Denver; and Jake Heinbigner of Culbertson; and four half-sisters, Mrs. Lew (Elizabeth) Hidy of Trenton; Mrs. Floyd (Natalie) Kern of South Gate, California; Mrs. Ed (Katherine) Adams of Culbertson, and Mrs. Conrad (Esther) Sinner of Denver.
