Odis Martin Northcott was born in Anson, Texas, October 26, 1916, to Richard Odis and Georgia Oma Shahan Northcott. Odis died at his home in Cortez, Colorado. He was 53 years old at the time of his death. He went to Cortez to operate a trucking business. Later he established a ready-mix plant which he operated along with his truck lines. He was spending a lot of time in Phoenix, Az to oversee businesses he had there, but was planning to come back to Cortez before he died. He is buried in the Cortez cemetery. He married Martha Jo Taylor and had two children. Odis Ireland (Bud) Northcott and Martha Delores (Cookie) Northcott Pickens. At the time of his death he was survived by his mother, Georgia Oma Northcott, a brother, Robert Clayton of Lamesa and a sister, Oma Dee Phillips of Lamesa.
He was also survived by 5 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Ertel Memorial Chapel with Bishop Halworth Tanner officiating and the Cortez Masonic Lodge No. 133, conducted the graveside rites at the Cortez Cemetery.
