Charles Herink, Sr., was born April 21, 1886 to Frank Herink and Anna Fisher at Barneston, Neb., and passed away at Concordia, Kan., August 14, 1961, at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 24 days.
At the age of two he moved with his parents to Republic county, Kan., where he received his schooling at the Tabor rural school north of Cuba.
He was married to Anna Kopsa February 22, 1911, in Belleville and to this union two sons were born, Allwin Earl and Charles E. Allwin died in infancy at the age of 1 and 1/2 years.
Charles resided on the farm until 1921 when he moved to Cuba where he ran a dairy. In 1947 he and his wife moved to Clyde where they resided until the time of his death. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary the past winter.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Anna, his son Charles of Clyde and his wife Tyrra, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a sister, Mrs. Elsie Bazant of Narka, Kan., and a host of friends and relatives.
