The following was taken from a newspaper clipping. This is my great grandfather.

Charles W. Milster, familiarly known throughout Wayne County as "Arkansas Tom," passed away Sunday afternoon, June 14, at the home of his son, Luther C. Milster near Hendrickson, Butler Co., at the age of 85 years. Death was due to stomach ulcers and the infirmities incident to advanced age.

Funeral services were held at Greer Chapel in Polpar Bluff Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. H.L. Wilkinson, pastor of Poplar Bluff Christian Church, after which the remains were conveyed to Greenville, taken in charge by Greenville Lodge No. 107 A.F. & A.M., of which the deceased had long been an honored member, and escorted to Hickman Cemetery in Greenville, where the beautiful ritualistic ceremony of the order was performed by K.C. Johnson of Poplar Bluff, District Deputy Grand Master, with Lee Powers, Past Master, acting as Chaplain. Pall bearers were L.L. Polk, Fred J. Stephens, A.G. Templeton, I.L. Rhodes, Ellsworth Barrow and Henry Hinkle all members of Greenville Lodge.

Deceased was a widower, his wife having died a few years ago, and is survived by one daughter and six sons, as follows: Mrs. Maude (J.L.) Pettit of Hollywood, California, Ben A. Milster of Poplar Bluff, F.J. Milster of Granite City, Ill., H.L. and L.C. Milster of Henderickson, F.C. Milster of California and C.A. Milster of Greenville.

Mr. Milster was born in Perry County, this state, but for many years was an honored and respected citizen of Wayne County. For a number of years, and until a few years ago, he resided in Chaonia and was Postmaster at that place. He took a keen interest in public affairs and was one of the leading member of the Republican party in this county. He never held elective public office, but at one time was Deputy County Clerk. He was an enthusiastic member of the Masonic order, had served as Worshipful Master and Secretary of Greenville lodge, and was also at the one time District Deputy Grand Master for this Masonic district. Mr. Milster was a prolific and interesting writer and was correspondent for the Journal-Banner at Chaonia until his removal from that city. Recently he had made his home with his sons, Ben A. Milster of Poplar Bluff and Luther Milster of Hendrickson. He was one of the best known, most respected and loved citizens of the county. His passing removes one of the landmarks of this section. He will be greatly missed and deeply mourned by citizens in all walks of life. Peace to his ashes.

Note: I have since found his death certificate, it states he was born Aug, 29, 1849, died June 14, 1931. His father was Lawson Milster, and states his mother maiden name as, Lucy Swan, her birthplace as Perry County, Missouri.
