Charley Edward Burchett, 50, Sandusky, died Wednesday from injuries received in a traffic accident in Ottawa County.
He was born in Albany, Ky., and was employed by the S.E. Johnson Co. He was a member of the Laborers Union Local No. 480. He was associated with Foster Parent's Support Group and was a foster parent to many children for 21 years.
He is survived by his wife, Regena (Carey) Burchett, to whom he was married for 30 years; three daughters, Kim, Kelly, and Kreshea; two sons, Kevin and Kenny; five foster children, all at home, and numerous other foster children; four sisters, Mrs. Denver (Patress) Moore, and Janie Baker, both of Louisville, Ky.; Glenna Alexander, Albany, Ky; and Mrs. Frank (Emily) Alexander, Sandusky; six brothers, Johnnie, Sandusky; James H., Toledo; Morton Earl Jr., Smith Grove, Ky.; Flim , Enry C., and William R., all of Louisville,Ky; and one aunt, Mrs. Ethel Adams, Albany.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morton C. Burchett Sr. and Dora (Andrews) Burchett; two sisters and one brother.
Friends may call from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Robinson Temple Church of God In Christ, 508 Poplar St., Sandusky, where services w ill be 11 a.m. Monday. The Elder Melvin Carlock will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Robinson Temple Church Of God In Christ Building Fund.
