Darrell Ray Greenlee, 89, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Western Hills Church of Christ. Interment: 3 p.m. Tuesday in Wayland Cemetery in Wayland. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Baumgardner Funeral Home. Born and raised in Wayland, Mr. Greenlee attended school in Wayland and Breckenridge and spent his days working on his family's land and helping with his five younger siblings. After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and eventually attended Texas Tech University, graduating in 1950 with a bachelor of science in electrical engineering. Mr. Greenlee met his wife, Faustina Haynes, at College Avenue Church of Christ in Lubbock, and they married in February 1951. They recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Mr. Greenlee had a passion for family, children, music, nature and photography and received numerous awards and ribbons for his creative works. Before retiring from General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Mr. Greenlee served as the Camera Club commissioner for numerous years. He enjoyed sharing his love for photography with others. Mr. Greenlee was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Leona Greenlee, and one brother, Charles Greenlee. Survivors: Wife, Faustina Greenlee; son, James Greenlee and wife, Laura; daughters, Michelle Johnson and husband, Paul, and Melissa Twist and husband, David; brothers, James Greenlee and wife, Sharon, and Robert Greenlee; sisters, Joan Jones and Barbara McHargue and husband, Chuck; grandchildren, Shane, Chad, Ashley, Allie, Brant and Reid; and great-grandchildren, Andie, Addie and Avery.
