John Cooney, 71, Dies at Oakland
John Cooney, 71, farmer, died Friday morning at the home of his niece, Mrs. Frank Ring in Carson. His death was due to heart complications from which he had suffered for two years.
A native of Knoxville, Ia., Mr. Cooney came to this vicinity at the age of nine years, and has made his home in the county. He has made his home with the Rings for twenty-six years.
He was unmarried. Surviving are three brothers, Charles and William Cooney of Council Bluffs and Ferdinand Cooney of Knoxville; and two sisters, Mrs. Kate Hart of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Emma Shillings of Knoxville.
Funeral services will be held at the Avoca Catholic church Monday at 10:30 a.m.
