William Cooney, 82, formerly a custodian of the Harrison street school, died Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Josie Ives at Oto, Ia.
A resident of Council Bluffs for 38 years, Mr. Cooney was the father of Lee Cooney, a former city councilman, who is now living at Dallas, Tex.
He is also survived by another daughter, Anna Bremholm of Council Bluffs; two other sons, Ora Cooney of Oakland and Cecil Cooney of Council Bluffs; a brother, Charles Cooney of Council Bluffs; a sister, Mrs. I. L. Hart of Council Bluffs; and twenty-two grandchildren.
The body was returned to Council Bluffs and is at the Tyler funeral home.
