Virginia Vanderpool Duffield passed away on May 15, 2014, surrounded by her family.

She was born on November 16, 1922 to William Benton Vanderpool and Ella Sarah Washburn in Princeton, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Algene Duffield; three brothers, and four sisters.

Virginia worked as a nurse's aide at University Hospital (then Colorado General) for 30 years.

She raised two daughters, Sharon Henderson and Sandra Eastin.

She is survived by her daughters; their husbands, Wayne Henderson and Larry Eastin; a grandson, Christopher Henderson; a great-grandson, Cameron Henderson; a sister, Angie Stanley, of Ft. McCoy, FL; and many nieces, nephews, stepgrandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Services on May 20, 2014, 2:00 p.m., at Martin Mortuary in Grand Junction, Colorado, with burial on May 23, 2014, 2:00 p.m., at Evergreen Cemetery in Lineville, Iowa.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Wounded Warriors Project.
