MRS VANDERPOOL DIES SUNDAY

May 21, 1953 , Princeton Post Telegraph, Princeton, Mercer County, Missouri, USA

Mrs Sarah Ella Vanderpool, 65 years old, wife of William Vanderpool, died Sunday of a heart atack at a local hospital, a few hours after being admitted. Her death came ten days after that of a brother, James A Washburn, who died of a heart attack May 7. Funeral services for Mrs Vanderpool were held at 2 o'clock (this) Wednesday afternoon at the Moss Funeral Home and were conducted by the Rev VE Walker. Burial was in the Pine Cemetery. Mrs Vanderpool, a daughter of Mr and Mrs JC Washburn, was born Feb 8, 1888, in Lindley township. She was married in January 1906 to William Vanderpool, who survives. For many years they lived three miles south of Princeton and Mrs Vanderpool became a member of the Crusher Baptist church adn later of the Antioch Baptist church. The family moved to Princeton about ten yers ago. Mr and Mrs Vanderpool were the parents of 11 childen, two of who died. In addition to her husband she leaves three sons, William Vanderpool of Cedar Rapids, IA.; Gene adn Kenneth Vanderpool of Pariinceton' six daughters, Mrs Martha Sparks of Albany, Ore; Mrs Pauline Baker of Princeton; Mrs Angie Stanley of Mercer; Mrs Virginia Duffield of Des Moines; Mrs Ruby Keller of Fairfield, IA;l and Mrs Wilma Sparks of Cedar Rapids; four sisters, Mrs Josie Stanturf of Ravanna; Mrs Tillie Houk mrs Nellie Brown and Mrs Flaud Roberts of Princeton and 24 grandchildren.
