Mrs. Grace P. Smith, 85, died Monday evening at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home in Lorain after a long illness. She had made her home with her daughter,Mrs.Clifton(Dorothy) Creekmore,in Amherst.
A native and longtime resident of Meridian,Miss.,Mrs. Smith moved to Amherst in 1976.She was a member of Southside Baptist Church In Meridian.
In addition to her daughter,survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Al( Janelle) Tims of Dearborn, Mich. and Mrs. Howard( Jeanne)Jackson of Memphis,Tenn.: sons M.J.,
Carl B. and Harold McCraw all of Jackson,Miss.: 15 grand-children and many great-grandchildren,:brothers Carl and Norbert Poythress both of Meridian,Miss,:sisters Mrs.Dick(Margaret)Clancy of Atlanta,Ga.,and Mrs.Everett(Annie) Shamburger of Hattiesburg,Miss.
Friends will be received tomorrow, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm., at the Hemphel Funersl Home, 373 Cleveland Ave.Amherst, where rites will be at 11am Friday. The Rev.Robert N. Barrett, pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Amherst, will officiate. Burial will be in Crownhill Cemetery,Amherst.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Lucy Idol School,435 Nickelson St.Vermilion 44089
