Mr. Poythress, 89 of Meridian, died Saturday, June 6, 1998, at Riley memorial Hospital. He was the retired owner and operator of Poythress Radiator Shop. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Brotherhood of Railway Carmans Division of Transportation Communication Union.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Tucker Poythress; a daughter, Carla Lynn Thomas; a son-in-law, Randy Thomas; and two granddaughters, Erica Barnett and Amanda Thomas, all of Meridian; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, Earl Poythress, Carl Speed, Jimmy White, Joe White, Bubba Boswell, Larry Vick, Wayne Scruggs and George Farr.
Visitation will be held today from 5 to 8p. at Webb Funeral Home.
