Edwin H Nichols, 70, of RD 3, Conneaut Lake, died at City Hospital Friday, Oct. 12, 1973, at 6:05 am after a sudden illness.
Born at Utica on Jan. 4, 1903, he was a son of Orlo and Carrie Cassidy Nichols. He married Ida F. Horne Craine. Mr. Nichols was a retired conductor for the Erie Lackawanna Railway Co. He was a member of Silver Cord Masonic Lodge of Cleveland and the Al Koran Shrine Temple of Cleveland. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his widow; a stepdaughter, Mrs. William (Betty Rose) Ferguson of Monroeville; a stepson, William L. Craine of Lady Lake, Fla.; four sisters, Mrs. Walter (Thelma) Baird and Mrs. William (Rachel) Crowe, both of Meadville; and Mrs. Margaret Wickham and Mrs. Dorothy McCool, both of Las Vegas; a brother, Fred Nichols of Meadville; seven step grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Charles R. Hatheway Funeral Home with the Rev. Herbert A. Ziegler, pastor of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, officiating. Entombment will be at Roselawn Mausoleum. There will be no calling hours.
