Postville, Iowa, March 20 - Special: Thomas C. Folsom, 78 a retired farmer, died Sunday noon at the home of his sister, Mrs. Sarah Simpson, in Postville. He was born in Indiana, April 16, 1849, and came to this section of Iowa as a young man. He was farming until 1919, when he came to Postville with his wife to retire. A few months later, Feb. 23, 1920, his wife passed away, and from that time he has made his home with his children or his sisters. The deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Rachel Harris and Mrs. Angie Hammel, Postville, and eight sons: Loney Folsom, Postville; William Folsom, Dubuque, Iowa; Lee and Richard Folson, Postville; Melbert Folsom, St. Cloud, Minn.; Austin Folson, Waukon, Iowa; Gilbert and Milo Folsom, Postville. There are aso (sic) 33 grand children and two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Simpson, Postville, and Mrs. Hachel Birdsell, Frankville. Funeral ceremonies were held Tuesday, March 20 in the afternoon at the Presbyterian church at Postville, with Rev. Franklin Galloway officiating.
