Suggested edit: "Oldest Resident Goes to Her Reward

Mrs. Sophia A. Padden, ill but a short time, died of a heart attack in 1935. She was the oldest woman in the community being 89 years but had always been active up to the time of her death. "Grandma" Padden, as she was universally known to all, was known and respected by old and young.

Born in Indiana December 17, 1846, she was married to Thomas J. Padden on July 4, 1866. In 1883 they moved to the Black Hills and three years later to the Little Missouri River. She is survived by a son, Willard, and one daughter, Mrs. Electa Kerr, both of Camp Crook and by six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Interment was in Pine View Cemetery beside her husband."
